June 15th, 8:00 pm | Presents Gallery | 64 Washington Ave, Brooklyn | I'll be giving a talk and playing music from On Foot: Brooklyn. Beth O'Brien will present visuals from the project. Part of John Hastings' Sound Series. February 21 to May 21, 2012 | On Foot: Brooklyn | Each week for 13 weeks I will compose a new piece, write it down, and perform it outdoors in a public space in Brooklyn. For the duration of the project I will travel everywhere I go on foot, using no other form of transport. Beth O'Brien has an article on the project in the Brooklyn Rail. Each Sunday, I will walk to a different location in Brooklyn and perform the piece I composed that week outdoors in a public space: February 26, Bensonhurst, northeast corner of 18th Avenue and 85th Street, under the elevated tracks. April 1, Greenpoint, Newton Creek Nature Walk April 8, Fort Hamilton, in front of Dover Patrol Monument obelisk April 15, Coney Island, at the end of Stillwell Ave, on the Boardwalk April 22, Downtown Brooklyn, NE corner of island at intersection of Flatbush, Atlantic, and 4th Avenues April 29, Cypress Hills, southwest corner of Force Tube and Ridgewood Avenues May 6, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Von King Recreation Center, in the field behind the ball field May 13, Sunset Park, top of Sunset Park.
