February 21 to May 21, 2012 | On Foot: Brooklyn | Each week for 13 weeks I will compose a new piece, write it down, and perform it outdoors in a public space in Brooklyn. For the duration of the project I will travel everywhere I go on foot, using no other form of transport. Beth O'Brien has an article on the project in the Brooklyn Rail. Below is a brief interview about the project with THIRTEEN's MetroFocus. My thanks to Daniel Ross and Bijan Rezvani for the beautiful production. Watch On Foot: Brooklyn on PBS. They've also posted a nice article here. Each Sunday, I will walk to a different location in Brooklyn and perform the piece I composed that week outdoors in a public space: James Saunders has posted an interview about On Foot: Brooklyn here. Jennie Gottschalk posted an interview done in January at Sound Expanse. Beth O'Brien has written about the Bensonhurst walk here. Sheela Kangal has written about the Sunset Park performance here. Jen G over at Greenpointers has a post about the project here. There is an article on the project at the Greenpoint Gazette available here. The CD for On Foot was released August 23 on the Edition Wandelweiser Records Label. The CD features performances by Christian Wolff, Katie Porter, Jürg Frey, Antoine Beuger, Marcus Kaiser and Tobias Liebezeit. To order a CD in Europe, go here. To order a CD in the US, go here. Richard Pinnell has reviewed the CD here. Brian Olewnick has reviewed the CD here, and Matthew Horne over at tiny mix tapes has reviewed it here. Contact: craig [at] craigshepard [dot] net
